Spend a weekday in Leavenworth and avoid the weekend crowds! Enjoy a weekday whitewater rafting trip with us on the Wenatchee River this summer! We know you’ll appreciate the sunshine, scenery, and whitewater that the eastern side of the state has to offer.
Rafting Guests! Thank you for your flexibility as we enjoy an unusually warm/dry season and lower-than-usual water levels. Reservations for raft trips after mid-June may be modified to Inflatable Kayaking or Tubing trips. Please check your emails and watch for updates from our river staff. Thank you!!
The Wenatchee River is known as a great introduction to whitewater rafting for first time river rafting paddlers. If you have friends or family who haven’t experienced the thrill of a whitewater rafting trip, and you have the whole day to enjoy it, then the Wenatchee River may be just the thing. Starting in the Bavarian-themed town of Leavenworth, Washington the Wenatchee River winds its way through apple orchards on its way to our take-out in the town of beautiful Cashmere.
The Wenatchee River is one of the most popular whitewater river rafting trips in Washington State. For these simple reasons it is a must do rafting experience: in the spring, when the river peaks as does great class III white water; in the summer when the river mellows, the weather is hot, and it can be traveled by inexperienced paddlers from 11 years on up. In fact I took my grandfather of 92 years of age, when I asked if he wanted to stop at the dam he looked at me and said “Where do you think you got it boy?”. The Wenatchee River is the quintessential warmer weather river rafting trip. . . sometimes wild, but always ‘forgiving’, because every rapid ends in a pool of calmer flowing water.
Although this whitewater river raft trip is three hours from Seattle, WA, the journey is a great introductory raft trip for the whole family. This whitewater rafting trip is for those who seek roller-coaster type waves and who aren’t afraid of getting wet. The Wenatchee River is 14 miles long, the majority of which is flat moving water, and the twelve rapids that make up this section of river are Class III whitewater. The Wenatchee River tumbles down from Tumwater Canyon in the North Cascades and the trip begins at the second most visited attraction in Washington State… Leavenworth.
Camping near the Wenatchee River is a great way to enjoy the warm temperatures and bright sunshine of the eastern side of the state. Book a stay in one of the Leavenworth KOA campsites, RV spaces, or cabins and tell them Outdoor Adventure sent you!
Our Wenatchee River Rafting trips are generally available May through late-July. We recommend eating a hearty lunch and consuming plenty of water at one of the local diners or restaurants prior to meeting up with your guides.
