Hardshell Kayak Camp

The river environment is a dynamic and challenging classroom. With unlimited learning opportunities and the support of our experienced instructional team, your teen will gain confidence in their boating skills, river safety, camp and cooking skills, team problem-solving, environmental stewardship, and so much more!

Designed for the beginning/developing kayaker age 14-18 with basic paddling skills, this 4-day overnight camp will challenge your son or daughter to become a confident and responsible river kayaker.

Our ACA certified instructors will share their love of the river with your son/daughter through hands-on practice sessions. Our experienced team of whitewater enthusiasts (male and female instructors) will challenge each kayaker to increase their boating skills and every paddler receives a substantial amount of 1:1 instructional time as well as personalized feedback on their progress. Our goal is to encourage your child’s love of kayaking through positive paddling experiences, while teaching them to make safe decisions in and around the water. Inflatable kayaks will also be used throughout the program as a teaching tool and for the enjoyment of your child.

Our instructors are safe, experienced, and energetic enough to supervise, teach, and challenge your teen. They hold certifications in Whitewater Rafting, Whitewater Kayaking, Swiftwater Rescue, Lifeguarding, and Wilderness First Aid. Our number one priority is to keep your child safe. We also teach them to make safe, responsible decisions when on or near rivers, lakes, and oceans.
