Our instruction is based on the ACA’s (American Canoe Association’s) proven paddle stroke techniques: the paddler’s box, the J-Lean, forward stroke, reverse sweep strokes, low and high braces, and draw strokes.

This is the perfect introductory class for youth who are interested in sea kayaking, white water (river) paddling, inflatable or sit-on-top kayaking and is also great for stroke refinement for paddlers who haven't yet had any formal instruction.

Class fee includes boat, spray skirt, life jacket, paddle, pool fees, and instruction. Discounts for registering siblings!

Course Location: This course includes a brief instructional time followed by lots of on-water practice. Parents (and siblings!) are welcome to sit in the upstairs balcony viewing area during the pool session. Only class participants are allowed on the pool deck and in the water.

ACA Equivalent: Level 1
