Deception Island Paddle Board Short Race Details
You don't need to be an expert paddle boarder to participate, but if this is your first event or the open-water conditions are more than you're used to, we strongly recommend that you prepare (practice distance paddling, self-rescues, etc) and make safe decisions about your paddling ability on the day of the race (based on actual conditions).
All racers must wear a Coast Guard approved pfd and whistle, and your board must have a leash. If this is your first SUP race, or you'd like to practice and work on your rescue skills and take advantage of early check-in, be sure to join us on Saturday, December 7th for some on-water time and classes.
Registration will be available online from October 28th to December 7th. Once your online registration and payment have been processed, you will receive an email requesting additional required paddler information. It is the responsibility of each racer to submit all paperwork prior to race day.
Volunteers & Safety Paddlers
Must register and get checked off ahead of time. Volunteer positions include; setup, tear-down, registration, food, timing, aid station, prizes, emcee, and advertising. If you would like to volunteer please send an email to info@OutdoorAdventureCenter.com - THANKS!

Conditions permitting, the 2 mile course will be as follows; from Bowman Bay, paddlers will head southwest to Deception Island. The island will be rounded counterclockwise.
