Youth Kayak Program
JeffThis year the Outdoor Adventure Center is proud to bring you Western Washington’s only program for youth paddlers. This year long program provides a consistent, flexible introduction to the world of whitewater paddling. Help your son or daughter increase their confidence, coordination, endurance, and problem solving skills while enjoying our beautiful river environment.
This program also provides an excellent cross training opportunity for young athletes participating in other sports. This program can accommodate both experienced youth paddlers and those with no experience. Cost is $1,995 for one year for a no or limited experience paddler. This includes a two weekend Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking Course followed by one evening paddling session a week during the spring, summer, and early fall along with one weekend day paddling session a month for the year. Cost for a youth paddler with sufficient experience is $1,695 for the year. This includes one evening paddle session a week for the spring, summer, and early fall seasons and one weekend day paddle session a month for one year.
The Outdoor Adventure Center has equipment available for rent, however we recommend that students purchase their own equipment. This program is suitable for youths age 11-18. Program will start the evening of Friday, April 7. An informational meeting will be held for interested youths and their parents the evening of Saturday, January 14 here at the shop. A mandatory meeting for participating youths and their parents will be held the evening of Saturday, March 18 here at the shop.
