For Class III Raft Guides
This Intensive Class III-V Raft Guide Training course is for commercial and private boaters with extensive experience on rivers up to Class III. If you are looking to increase your skills and challenge yourself on the Skykomish River's Class III-V whitewater, then this is the class for you!
Wave Trek is the only outfitter in Washington State to exploit Certified Whitewater Raft Guide Instructor Trainers who use the American Canoe Association's paddle rafting curriculum. Our Instructor Trainers have extensive whitewater and instructional experiences world wide. They will go out of their way to make sure each student's goals are met and their river experiences are positive and fun! We look forward to seeing you on the river. No previous experience necessary.
Goals
Safety
To paddle whitewater safely, perform self-rescue and respond to emergencies that arise.
Skills
To acquire the techniques, knowledge and skills needed to paddle a raft on Class III+ whitewater.
Enjoyment
To challenge yourself to gain new skills that will help to prepare you for enjoying rivers rated Class III+.
Job Placement
If you are interested in working as a commercial raft guide we will help you with placement on the appropriate rivers.
Details
This course is designed for those who have completed a raft training course and/or competent Class III rafters.
Schedule: 50+ hours on weekends or by arrangement until checked off
Cost: $350.00 (Price goes up February 15th)
