Northwest Whitewater Kayak Instruction is our specialty. If you like water, adrenaline, epic scenery, rollercoaster rides, controlled chaos, wild areas, the roaring sound of waterfalls or any mix in between: then you need to learn to whitewater kayak. With hundreds of river sections to choose from and five difficulty classifications to try out, whitewater kayaking is one of the best ways to enjoy the Northwest's rivers. In a kayak you can float a Wild & Scenic section, surf the local play wave, boof the biggest rock in the river, huck yourself off a waterfall, or just fish your favorite spot from a whole new vantage point. At Outdoor Adventures you are taught by local certified experts who love to whitewater kayak! Kayak instruction is not just our job, kayaking is our passion. Our team of kayak instructors are second to none; we paddle together on one of the most difficult river sections in the Northwest and provide safety to all who paddle near us on the Wild Sky.
Outdoor Adventures is unique as the first and only ACA Whitewater Pro School on the West Coast. Our 110 year old, one of a kind "River House" on the Skykomish River gives us access to Class I-V sections of whitewater, all within 10 miles. During our cold winter months we do most of our instruction from the local pools in Redmond, Washington; Kirkland, WA, Seattle, WA; and Monroe, WA, but when spring breaks through we are the first on the rivers. And we paddle most of the rivers in the Northwest!
Whatever your paddling experience may be, we will do our best to take you to the next level of kayaking. For beginning paddlers we offer QuickStart Your Kayak, Intro to Paddlestrokes, and Introduction to Kayaking. For intermediate kayakers we offer Essentials of River Kayaking, River Kayaking, Whitewater Kayaking, and Kayak Rolling. For advanced kayakers we offer Advanced Whitewater Kayaking, Coastal Kayak Surf Zone, Coastal Kayak Advanced Surf Zone, Whitewater Kayak Playboating, and Advanced Kayak Roll. Our Whitewater Kayak Classes are informative, hands-on, allow you to learn at your own pace, and are a lot fun! We welcome you to the kayak community and hope to see you in on the water soon!
